Postural Alignment & Core Strengthening

Many children have medical conditions or other issues that result in poor posture (or alignment of the joints) and weak core musculature. This can result in difficulty initiating or sustaining certain movements, especially those that require dynamic weight shifts or overall balance.  Core exercises train the muscles in the pelvis, low back, hips and abdomen to work together to improve posture, balance and stability whether needed for playing on the playground or simply performing daily tasks.

I will facilitate improved postural alignment and core strength using fun and functional activities, including, but not limited to:

  • Stability Ball Games

  • Swing Play

  • Balance Activities

  • Animal Walks for Weight Bearing

  • Functional "Heavy Work"
